Julio doesn't mind petting after all...as long as he's not eating at the same time. That must remind him of Panther's smacking him while eating. Panther is gone but the memory remains, and, sure enough, Marbles, who is back full-time, has adopted Panther's habit of slapping other cats while they're eating.
